Live Like the Edison Family

The Edison family was one forward-thinking bunch. Thomas Edison is renowned for inventing a slew of devices including the phonograph, the motion picture and the electric light bulb. His son, Charles Edison, carved out a name for himself and became the Governor of New Jersey in 1941. While it's likely you'll never share the Edison penchant for invention, you can now do the next best thing: live in the Edison house, which is on the market for $599,000. View the listing.

History buffs take note: The current owners are in possession of a blueprint dated November 26, 1920 that outlines the upgrades to the house that Charles Edison requested from his New York City based architects. They also have papers related to Edison's ownership of the house that include his signature. All of the documents will be sold with the house.
