A driver fleeing police struck several cars on the Outer Loop of the Beltway in Montgomery County, Md., Monday morning.
The driver of a small, red car fled after a crash with two cars in Forestville, according to Maryland State Police.
After a lookout for the car was given, it was involved in another crash with several vehicles near University Boulevard. Drivers at that scene tried to box the red car in, but its driver maneuvered away and continued toward Bethesda, where an off-duty Montgomery County police officer stopped it near Rockville Pike.
The man was taken into custody and faces numerous charges, including driving under the influence and driving while intoxicated, state police said.
Prince George’s County police also assisted.
