Federal government agencies and organizations took to Twitter to announce their social media blackout.

In addition to many of the government websites becoming inaccessible, the Twitter accounts of the various departments and government-funded organizations went silent starting midnight Tuesday.

Below are some of the agencies, organizations and even a couple D.C. landmarks who announced they would no longer be Tweeting during the government shutdown via Twitter.
