A two-year-old girl has died after police say she was thrown 50 feet to the ground from a skywalk at a local mall, and the child's grandmother has been charged with her death.
The incident happened at about 7:15 p.m. Monday at Tysons Corner Center, on a walkway that connects the mall with the fourth floor of the parking garage. The walkway is about 40 to 50 feet above the ground.
The child, Angelyn Ogdoc of Falls Church, Va., died at about 4:30 a.m. Tuesday.
The child's grandmother, Carmela Dela Rosa, of the 3100 block of Ellenwoods Drive in Fairfax, Va., was charged with aggravated malicious wounding, but that charge was amended to murder now that Angelyn has died.
Police said Angelyn and Dela Rosa were leaving the mall with family when Dela Rosa allegedly picked up the toddler and threw her
over the railing.
