A hip, popular fine-dining restaurant offering cheap(er) food and wine? Done and done.
Equinox is celebrating its 10-year anniversary by offering a discounted prix-fixe menu throughout the summer. For $40, you can enjoy a delicious three-course meal; wine pairings will run you an additional $25.
The menu, which changes each month, will showcase the restaurant's distinctive regional cuisine, using only fresh seasonal ingredients. Be on the lookout for barbecued salmon with a summer corn salad or softshell crab with onions and bacon. De-lish!
Now onto today's history lesson.
Co-owners Todd and Ellen Gray started Equinox as a mom-and-pop restaurant nearly 10 years ago. Over time, Equinox has evolved into one of the city's top restaurants, winning RAMMY awards for Best Fine Dining Restaurant and Best Manager along the way. The prestigious James Beard Foundation has also nominated Gray five times for Best Chef, Mid-Atlantic.
... And Michelle Obama had her birthday at Equinox, so hey, it's gotta be good.
