Local 'Top Chef' Contestant Falls Short of Title
    Bravo!
Top Chef Season 5 in New Orleans

Our local representative in Bravo's "Top Chef" came up just short of winning the top title in the show's final episode which aired Wednesday night.

Carla Hall, who trained at Gaithersburg’s L’Academie de Cuisine and runs Wheaton-based Alchemy Caterers, was an underdog to end up in the final three, according to the Washington Bussiness Journal.

Hosea Rosenberg, who is a cook in Colorado, was the big winner. He receives $100,000, will be featured in several magazines and will make public appearances, the Washington Bussiness Journal reported.

Not to worry, Hall will likely do just fine from the publicity. Last year's local contestant (who did not advance very far), Spike Mendelsohn, opened his own eatery in Capitol Hill.
