After the continual arrivals of NYC superstars such as Shake Shack, Serendipity 3, Carmine's and Pinkberry, we're ready for a little taste of the West Coast.

Now, to our joyous tastebuds' delight, skim vanilla chais will be served up aplenty at the new Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, which is due to open Feb. 14 in the Washington Hilton (1919 Connectict Ave. NW).

The Southern California-based specialty coffee and tea spot has more than 800 locations -- and we all remember what happened when Starbucks dared to expand to D.C., right? Success and glory happened, that's what.

Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf will offer a wide variety of the top one percent of Arabica coffee beans, as well as hand-picked loose-leaf teas, and fresh baked goods. They'll also have plenty of seating and free wi-fi so you can occupy that seating, since that's pretty much required.
