The Prince George's County Hospital Authority said it failed to find a suitable buyer for the county hospital system, The Maryland Daily Record reported.

The authority issued its report at its final meeting Friday.

Nine entities expressed interest in buying parts of the system, but none offered to purchase the entire group. The hospital system includes Laurel Regional Hospital, Prince George's Hospital Center in Cheverly, Bowie Health Campus and two nursing centers.

Bids from Arundel Medical Center, Chiaramonte Group in Southern Maryland and Dimensions Health Care were the most complete and could get further consideration.

Chairman Kenneth Glover said his authority’s final report would also recommend transitioning the hospital assets to Dimensions in the interim and then moving the assets to a “strategic partner,” although no partner has been chosen.

But one member of the authority dissented because he believes all the bids were too inadequate.
