Maryland Delegate Don Dwyer was involved in a car accident Tuesday in Pasadena, Md., according to the Anne Arundel County Police Department.

Police responded to the crash before 10:30 a.m. and confirmed that the driver at fault was Glen Burnie resident Misti Lynne Boggs.

Boggs was attempting to make a left-hand turn from Route 100 onto Magothy Bridge Road at a red light and drove into the path of Dwyer’s vehicle. Dwyer’s car struck Boggs’s car on its passenger side.

Neither driver required medical treatment at the scene.

Boggs was cited for failing to control speed to avoid collision and failure to obey traffic control device. She is being penalized with a $260 fine and 6 penalty points for contributing to an accident.

Dwyer has recently been arrested two times -- once for driving while impaired and once for being drunk while operating and crashing a boat.
