The Anacostia Community Museum is the least-visited of the Smithsonian museums, but it houses D.C. treasures.
The museum is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a block party Saturday, Oct. 7. There will be food trucks, music, henna tattoos and more.
"People should come see this museum because they can see themselves in this museum. We are a museum of, for and by the people," the museum's acting director, Lori Yarrish, said.
