Montgomery County Police arrested a soccer coach for the Real Maryland F.C. Soccer Club Thursday.
Roger Fernandez, 38, is charged with sexual abuse of a minor and one count of fourth-degree sexual offense.
Police said the alleged incident happened in March.
Fernandez is currently a volunteer with the Northwood High School soccer team.
He has been a soccer coach since 1993 in Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties.
His duties with the Real Maryland F.C. Soccer Club included traveling and coaching along the east coast.
UPDATE: On Friday, a second minor alleged inappropriate contact, police said. That victim accused Fernandez of inappropriate touching in February and March at the Real Maryland offices in Silver Spring and a Gaithersburg hotel. Fernandez was charged with two more counts of sexual abuse of a minor and two more counts of fourth-degree sexual offense.
