Prince George’s Police Investigate 35th Homicide of 2011

A man was shot and killed near a strip mall in Marlow Heights, Md., Friday afternoon.

There’s no word on a motive or a suspect in the shooting that took place near Branch Metro Plaza in the 3200 block of Branch Avenue at about 3:30 p.m., according to Prince George’s County police.

Police found the victim on the ground suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

It was the 35th homicide in the county in 2011, John Schriffen reported.

Police are looking for any surveillance video that might have captured the shooting and any possible witnesses.
