A man was shot and killed near a strip mall in Marlow Heights, Md., Friday afternoon.

There’s no word on a motive or a suspect in the shooting that took place near Branch Metro Plaza in the 3200 block of Branch Avenue at about 3:30 p.m., according to Prince George’s County police.

Police found the victim on the ground suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

It was the 35th homicide in the county in 2011, John Schriffen reported.
