A former volunteer at Groveton Elementary School in Alexandria, Va. was arrested on two counts of aggravated sexual battery on Wednesday. The charges stem from his alleged conduct toward students last spring.

George Ball, 75, is accused of inappropriately touching two seven-year-old students at Groveton. The allegations arose from what police called a "suspicious event" May 20.

Police said Ball turned himself in on Wednesday.

Ball worked with children, but police didn't give any further details on his volunteer role at the school. A Fairfax County Public Schools spokesperson said Ball is no longer working at Groveton in any capacity.

It wasn't immediately clear whether Ball was being held on the charges.
