D.C. is known for its memorials to the people and events that made American history. This Memorial Day weekend, get outside and explore some of the tributes to those who served and those who lost their lives for our country.
The following list includes eight places you can go to honor military heroes and world-altering events. Though they are not on this list, be sure to also look into the National World War I Memorial on the National Mall, the Coast Guard Memorial in Fort Myer, Virginia, and the U.S. Navy Memorial at Federal Triangle.
