Keswick Vineyards: A Country Estate Published August 1, 2012 • Updated on August 1, 2012 at 2:11 pm Keswick Vineyards, located on the historic Edgewood Estate, has views of the Southwest Mountains... and we can't complain about their Cabernet Franc, either. 8 photos 1/8 Keswick Vineyards (1575 Keswick Winery Drive, Keswick, Va.) is located on the historic grounds of Edgewood Estate, a 400-acre country estate built in 1911. 2/8 From noon to 4 p.m. this Saturday, Aug. 4, bring a partner and compete in a competition where the winner takes all... the wine they can handle, that is. Keswick is hosting summery games like bocce ball, ladder ball and badminton. 3/8 If you prefer to just focus on the wine without all those pesky sports interfering, you can head over any day you want. Regular tasting hours at Keswick are daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at $5 per person. We recommend the Cabernet Franc. 4/8 The tasting room does look picturesque in fall if you wait to wait. 5/8 You can also set up a private tasting with a winemaker or tasting room staff, in an outdoor picnic area or the cellar. 6/8 Keswick takes a minimalist approach to their wines, and ferment most with natural or native yeast. All their current red wines are bottled unfined and unfiltered. 7/8 The Keswick property was the site of two historic events, one during the American Revolution and one during the Civil War -- learn more here. 8/8 Keswick Vineyards is located about two hours south of D.C. 0 More Photo Galleries Brag on Your Grad: Celebrating 2020 Graduates in DC, Maryland and Virginia Photos: Protests, Unrest in DC Following George Floyd’s Death Protesters, Enraged by Black Americans Killed, Gather Nationwide NBC4-T44 Friday Fun: Show and Tell!
