See Famed Hollywood Costumes at the Virginia Museum of Fine Art

Get a glimpse of some of the most iconic costumes of the silver screen at the Hollywood Costume exhibit at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond.

Now until Feb. 17, you can see the costumes of old and new Hollywood, including the striped suit Kate Winslet's character wore when she first stepped foot on the Titanic, with her large hat tipped towards the sun. Other famous costumes from films like "The Wizard of Oz," "Gladiator," Alfred Hitchcock's "The Birds," "Fight Club" and "Superman" are also on display.

Some of the costumes are donated from private collections while others are from archival collections. And best of all, some have never been shown to the public before, and the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (200 N. Blvd., Richmond, Va.) is the only venue in the East Coast that will display them.

While you're there, check out another exhibit that would pair well with the Hollywood costume exhibit: Made in Hollywood: Photographs from the John Kobal Foundation. This exhibit features 90 original vintage prints of Hollywood's finest, including Greta Garbo, Alfred Hitchcock, Clark Gable and more. "Made in Hollywood" runs until March 10.
