Georgetown Student Sexually Assaulted: Cops

Police say the attack happened on 36th Street just north of N Street.

Police are investigating an alleged sexual assault of a Georgetown University student.

It happened Sunday at 2:15 a.m. on 36th Street just north of N Street blocks away from campus. Police say the student was sexually assaulted and physically injured during the attack. No word yet on the victim’s condition.

Police describe the suspect as a white male between the ages of 18 and 22 with short brown hair, standing between 5-foot-11 and 6-feet. He was last seen wearing a dark shirt and blue jeans.

Authorities searched the area but have not located the suspect. Georgetown students are advised to walk in pairs or groups, call Safe Rides or use the school’s shuttle services. The Department of Public Safety also provides safety escorts 24 hours a day and seven days a week.
