Prince George's County Police are looking for a man who allegedly tried to kidnap a child from a park in Lanham, Md., Thursday.

The suspect approached the child and tried to take him from a playground in the 8600 block of Seasons Way around 8 p.m., authorities said. That's in a residential area, less than a mile from NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center.

Police did not detail exactly how or why the suspect left the park. He was last seen wearing a red shirt and dark pants. Anyone with information on the attempted abduction should call Prince George's County Police at 301-772-4420.
