Mother Charged With Neglect in Baby's Death

Prince William County police charged a woman with neglect after her 9-month-old baby girl died after being left alone in a bathtub, according to police.
Investigators said Julia Sumo, 21, left the infant unattended when giving her a bath Saturday afternoon around 12:21 p.m. in a home on the 12900 block of Kingswell Drive in Dale City.
When Sumo returned she found the child unconscious. The baby was flown to a local hospital where she later died, according to investigators.
Sumo is charged with felony child neglect. She is being held without bail pending a hearing in Prince William Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.
