    You probably have Thanksgiving on your mind, but have you thought about traveling over the Christmas holiday?

    According to FareCompare.com, now is the time to buy your plane ticket because deals are decreasing by the day.

    FareCompare reports airline tickets will jump in mid-December, as much as 30 percent for shorter trips and as much as 90 percent for longer trips.

    So what are the cheaper days to fly?

    FareCompare reports Christmas Eve and Christmas Day as well as New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.

    If you're behind the wheel there is some good news: Tuesday AAA reported the national average price for gasoline is $3.28, the cheapest it's been all year. One month ago, the national average price for gas was $3.41, and one year ago it was $3.53.
