A South Florida man in a pirate costume was attacked and held at gunpoint by two men who were frightened by his appearance, authorities said.
Ahmed Othman, 24, and Muhamad Ahmad, 22, were arrested on charges including aggravated assault with a firearm, battery and false imprisonment in the Sept. 24 incident in Dania Beach, according to recently released Broward Sheriff's Office arrest reports.
Othman and Ahmad were booked into jail and later released. It was unknown if they have attorneys.
According to the arrest reports, Othman was near his home in the 300 block of E. Sheridan Street when he "saw the victim dressed in a pirate costume and it scared him."
Othman went to his apartment and told Ahmad about the bearded man who was dressed in black and walking down the street. The two grabbed loaded handguns and drove around until they spotted the victim walking in the hallway of his apartment building, the reports said.
The two men pointed their guns at the pirate and told him to put his hands up and get on the ground. One of the men put the victim's hands behind his back and put his knee in the back of the victim's neck, the reports said.
The men told the victim not to move or they would shoot him in the head. Othman and Ahmad later confessed to keeping the man against his will, the reports said.
