Getting Married Today – Help!

They're doing it, snow or no

Tony McCormack and Emily Lake aren't the only couple braving the snow to tie the knot today. They might, however, be the only ones literally tromping through the snow to get to the church on time.

With the groom's parents here from Ireland and relatives and guests from New York, California, Seattle, Connecticut and Massachusetts in town, they said the walk to the church will be well worth it.

The only problem is, of course, the snow. The couple needs to get their guests, the majority of whom are in a hotel in downtown Silver Spring, to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, also in Silver Spring.

The other end of the equation involves getting the best man -- who is also Tony McCormack's brother, his wife, and the groom's parents from Old Town, Alexandria up to Silver Spring.

The bride's siblings, meanwhile, are also trying to travel down from Columbia.

The soon-to-be Dr. and Mrs. McCormack told News4 that they may not have music or a place for a reception, "but one thing is for certain, we will get married."

And it's not just about them. "Our one real hope is to have our family present," they said. "The rest is just details."
