Warm Weather Sets New Records

The Winter Solstice arrived on Saturday, but summer temperatures dominated the weekend.

Record high temperatures were set at Reagan National, BWI, and Dulles airports on Saturday, and Sunday saw more records broken or tied. Storm Team4 Amelia Segal said new record highs for BWI and Dulles were set in the morning and the record at Reagan was tied.

The high temps on Sunday were set early as the thermometer plummeted as a front moved through the area.

Storm Team4 Chuck Bell said on average for the month, we are only a little more than a degree warmer than expected. He said the last few days have been more than 20 degrees warmer than average.

The front moving through Sunday and Monday will bring more December-like temperatures for Christmas Day.
