Upskirting Suspect Hangs Self in Cell

Police find inmate dead in his jail cell two days after he is jailed for video taping people in dressing rooms.

A Fairfax County jail inmate allegedly committed suicide two days after being jailed for video taping women in changing rooms.

Police said 44-year old Paul Calvan was found dead in his jail cell on Monday.

He was taken to the hospital where he later died.

On Friday, a 20-year-old woman told police she was in a dressing room at the Victoria’s Secret store at the Fair Oaks Mall and noticed a bag -- with a hole in it -- protruding under her door, according to the Washington Post

When she realized a camera was inside the bag, she opened the door and saw Calvan run out of the store, bag in hand.

The very next day, a Victoria Secret employee noticed him in the store again and told police.

An undercover detective followed Calvan and found him videotaping someone again at the Express store, the Washington Post reports

Police reportedly arrested Calvan as soon as he left the mall on Saturday and brought him to Fairfax County Jail.

According to the Post, this was not Calvan’s first arrest for sexual misconduct.

In September 1997, he pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting an 11-year-old girl in her McLean home as she slept.
