Man Gets 3+ Years for Robbing Diners in Logan Circle

A District of Columbia man was sentenced to more than three years in prison after pleading guilty to robbing two men who were eating outside a Logan Circle pizza restaurant.

James Edward Wade was sentenced Thursday in in D.C. Superior Court. Prosecutors say the 30-year-old Wade approached the victims around 9:20 p.m. on May 17 outside Pizzoli's Pizzeria in Logan Circle and was brandishing what appeared to be a handgun. The victims turned over property, and Wade fled.

Police posted a video of the robbery on YouTube and said Wade's arrest followed numerous tips from the public. Wade pleaded guilty to the crime in September.

Wade's attorney did not immediately respond to a telephone message left Thursday.
