A man allegedly filmed a woman while she showered at a gym in Virginia over the summer, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff.
Security footage from before 6 a.m. Aug. 11 showed a man loitering outside the entrance of the women’s locker room at Lifetime Fitness in Sterling, Virginia, looking around and entering, according to a search warrant.
The woman said she noticed a shadow outside her shower, then saw someone hold a silver iPhone in a clear case under the stall door, the sheriff said.
The woman screamed and the person fled.
The man in the surveillance video exited the women’s locker room about 40 seconds after he entered, walking faster as he left, according to the warrant. The man, who was wearing a shirt with “Capitals” on it, spent seven minutes in the gym but did not use any exercise equipment and left in a red car.
He was identified as 40-year-old Craig Romm of Ashburn through his gym membership card, police said.
He was charged Oct. 27 with unlawful filming, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff.
Police seized a number of items from Romm’s home, including a dark blue Capitals T-shirt, three silver iPhones, other video equipment and drug paraphernalia, according to the warrant.
