DC police are looking for suspects after a mother's car was stolen with her baby inside.

D.C. Police are searching for suspects after a mother's car was stolen in front of her home -- with her baby inside.

It happened at approximately 7:19 a.m. Thursday near North Capitol Street and P Street in Northeast Washington.

The woman ran back inside her home, leaving her SUV running with her one-year-old in the back, police said. She returned when she heard someone pulling off in her car.

The thief ditched the car a few blocks away in the 200 block of N Street in Northwest behind Dunbar High School, police said.
