An unconscious man was pulled from the Anacostia River on Saturday afternoon, around the area of Water and M streets S.E. He was subsequently pronounced dead. Police identifed the man as Pierre Williams, 31, of the 100 block of Franklin Street N.E.

There were no obvious signs of foul play.  D.C. police are trying to figure out exactly what happened. They are also waiting for an autopsy report from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for further clues.
