Police say a 91-year-old driver fatally struck a pedestrian in Wheaton, Md., Thursday afternoon.
Barbara Jean Green, 70, of northwest Washington was trying to cross the northbound lanes of Georgia Avenue at Henderson Avenue when she was struck by a 1999 Honda Accord just before 2 p.m.
Green was inside a marked crosswalk at the time, authorities said.
Green was taken to Suburban Hospital and was expected to be okay, but her condition deteriorated during the night. She died from her injuries Friday morning.
Police have not said whether the driver of the Accord, 91-year-old Miriam Rose Parizer, will face charges.
Neither the driver or her passenger were injured.
The accident remains under investigation.
