Wizards Summer League game postponed due to COVID-19 originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington
One day after three of their players entered the NBA's health and safety protocol, the Wizards have had their first game of the Summer League postponed. They were scheduled to play the Indiana Pacers in Las Vegas on Sunday night.
Cassius Winston, Issuf Sanon and Isaiah Todd were each placed into protocol and replaced by Asante Gist, Cheick Diallo and Derrick Walton Jr. But due to ongoing contact tracing, the Wizards do not have enough players to play the Pacers.

This is a disappointing turn of events for the Wizards, who were set to debut 2021 first-round pick Corey Kispert in the return of the Summer League, which was not held last year due to the coronavirus. The Wizards also happened to get hit worse than any other NBA team during the regular season with six games postponed in January.
The Summer League's return to Las Vegas was an encouraging development for the NBA, as business continues to return to normal after all the disruptions in 2020 due to the coronavirus. But this latest news is a reminder the pandemic is still very much a factor.
