Wizards-Bucks Game Postponed, Marking Sixth Straight for Wizards

Wizards-Bucks postponed, marking sixth straight for Wizards originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington

The Wizards have had yet another game postponed due to their COVID-19 outbreak, this one against the Milwaukee Bucks which was scheduled for Friday night. That marks six consecutive postponements for the Wizards.

Washington returned to practice on Wednesday night, but with only eight players. Though that is the required minimum to play, they haven't had enough practice time to get those players ready.

They only have eight players because two are hurt -- Thomas Bryant and Russell Westbrook -- and six remain in the league's health and safety protocol. The ones in protocol are not expected to join the team very soon, either.

Guard Bradley Beal voiced his concerns following Wednesday's practice and said he planned to lobby with the league's players association to get Friday's game moved. It took just a few hours for him to get his wish.

Now, the Wizards can look to Sunday and their matchup with the San Antonio Spurs. Washington hasn't played since its win on Jan. 11, and will now go at least 12 days without playing a game.

That is an unusually long break in the middle of a season, to say the least. And the more these games pile up, the more difficult it is going to be for the NBA to make them up.
