Ravens Vs. Browns Week 1 Inactives: Jimmy Smith Ready to Roll

Ravens vs. Browns Week 1 inactives originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington

After a training camp with relatively good health, Ravens fans woke up to semi-startling news Sunday morning.

Veteran defensive back Jimmy Smith, a Pro Bowl cornerback who will see time at safety in 2020, was listed as questionable to play as the result of back spasms. This came after not being listed on the injury report throughout the week.

The Ravens expected to be without running back Justice Hill, rookie defensive tackle Justin Madubuike and special teams ace Chris Moore. But losing Smith would have been a tough blow to the Ravens' new-look secondary, sans Earl Thomas.

Fortunately for the Ravens, Smith wound up being listed as active. It remains to be seen how many snaps he'll play if his back is acting up, as the Ravens won't want to push anybody too hard in Week 1 after a preseason without preseason games.
