Sometimes, kicking and screaming isn’t enough.

Just ask Harrisburg Senators manager Tripp Keister, who earned an ejection Saturday after taking off his hat and jersey to express his displeasure with an interference call that moved a Portland Sea Dogs runner up to second base.

The Nationals’ Double-A affiliate led 2-0 with top prospect Cade Cavalli on the mound. Cavalli showed the potential that made him Washington’s first-round pick in 2020 by tossing six innings with one run (none earned) on five hits, two walks and seven strikeouts. However, Portland got the win with a walk-off homer in the ninth.

Keister was promoted from the Nationals’ Single-A affiliate last offseason. The Senators are 25-45 so far this year.
