Juan Soto out of lineup for series opener against Braves originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington
The Washington Nationals are hitting the road for a six-game trip that will see them take on the Atlanta Braves and New York Mets. However, manager Davey Martinez's squad is in for a difficult start to these sets of games against NL East rivals.
Following a tweak to his right knee during Thursday's game versus the Philadelphia Phillies, Nationals outfielder Juan Soto is out of the lineup for the opening game against the Braves.

Soto initially tested out his knee and took some batting practice before Martinez decided not to play the 22-year-old in Atlanta. Gerardo Parra will take right field duties from Soto to kick off the series against the Braves.
No further information is available regarding whether Soto will once again test out his knee over the weekend or if the Nationals decide to place him on the injured list.
Soto is batting .298 with 18 home runs and 58 RBI in 99 games played this season.
