It's Been Five Years Since Kirk Cousins' Famous ‘You Like That?' Win

It's been five years since Kirk Cousins' famous 'You like that?' win originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington

Kirk Cousins was the full-time starting quarterback for the Washington Football Team for three seasons. The most memorable moment of his tenure in Washington can be described with three words:

"You like that?!"

Cousins was captured screaming that phrase as he jogged into Washington's locker room following a 31-30 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, a victory that occurred on Oct. 25, 2015, exactly five years to date.

Washington entered that Week 7 matchup against the Buccaneers with a 2-4 record, desperate for a victory. Things did not start off well for the home side at all, as the Burgundy and Gold fell behind 24-0 in the second quarter.

However, over the final two-plus quarters, Washington would outscore Tampa Bay 31-6 over the final frame, as a touchdown pass from Cousins to tight end Jordan Reed with under a minute remaining put the finishing touches on the largest comeback victory in franchise history.

Washington would go on to win six of its final nine regular-season matchups following their victory over the Buccaneers, finishing with a 9-7 record and an NFC East crown. Washington would host Green Bay in the wild-card round of the playoffs, but fall to Aaron Rodgers and co. in convincing fashion, 35-19. Cousins would not lead Washington to any other playoff games in his time with the team.

It's hard to believe that game was five years ago. But when you consider how many quarterbacks Washington has started since Cousins' departure -- seven to be exact -- it's clear a lot has happened since.

Cousins is currently in his third season as Minnesota's starter after signing with the Vikings in 2018. He's experienced some success with the purple and gold, as he won his first career playoff game with the team last season. Things aren't so sunny now, though, as Cousins is currently off to one of the worst starts of his career. Minnesota is 1-5, and Cousins' 10 interceptions are tied for the most in the league.
