Greg Roman: ‘If Dez Keeps Progressing, He'll Definitely Become a Factor in What We Do'

Greg Roman: If Dez keeps progressing, he can be a factor moving forward originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington

Dez Bryant may be nearing a return to game action, only this time in a more serious role.

At his weekly Thursday press conference, offensive coordinator Greg Roman said that Bryant, if he continues to progress in his knowledge of the Ravens’ offense, should become a factor moving forward.

“Dez is doing a good job, he’s really getting caught up,” Roman said. “He’s working hard at practice, he’s doing a good job at practice and in meetings. It’s good to have him aboard. We’ll just keep working and we’ll see where that leads moving forward. I don’t think there’s any real timeline right now. I do think if Dez keeps progressing, he’ll definitely become a factor in what we do.”

Bryant played in the Ravens’ win over the Colts, but only saw the field for two snaps and wasn’t targeted during the game. But simply stepping onto the field was an accomplishment for Bryant.

He hadn’t played in a regular season game since 2017 and not only that, tore his achilles tendon in 2018 just two days after signing with the Saints.

The once All-Pro receiver is looking to help aid a Ravens’ passing attack that has struggled through the first nine games of the 2020 season. Marquise “Hollywood” Brown hasn’t had the year many hoped for him, and the same goes for Miles Boykin.

If Bryant can continue to improve, he could find the field in a significant way sooner rather than later.
