The George Mason men's basketball program has paused team activities after a positive COVID-19 test was reported within the program, the team announced on Wednesday.

As a result, George Mason's game against the Maryland Terrapins, scheduled for Friday, December 4, has been canceled.

The team is currently following all procedures in place and will resume activity once it clears all protocols. George Mason's next game is scheduled for Tuesday, December 8, against Morgan State.

As for Maryland, this will be the second consecutive game the team will not play due to a positive COVID-19 test within its opponent's program.

The Terps Tuesday game against Towson was canceled after Towson reported a positive coronavirus test. That game was a fill-in for Maryland's matchup against Monmouth, also canceled due to COVID-19.

Maryland's next game is scheduled for Saturday, December 5, at James Madison. It will be just the second time the two programs have faced off.
