Former Philadelphia Eagle LeGarrette Blount announces retirement originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington

Three-time Super Bowl champion LeGarrette Blount announced his retirement from the NFL Saturday morning via Instagram. Blount, 34, last took the field for the Detroit Lions in 2018.

In his post, Blount took the time to thank every organization he was a member of, including the Philadelphia Eagles.

PHILADELPHIA!! PHILLY PHILLY!!! PHILLY SPECIAL!!! Doug, Howie Roseman and Mr. Lurie. That entire season was one of the most special seasons in my entire career for so many reasons!! Getting my 3rd SB ring is just icing on the cake that season. Eagles Nation!!

Blount played 16 games for the Eagles in 2017, rushing for 766 yards and two touchdowns. He rushed for a touchdown and 90 yards in the Eagles 41-33 Super Bowl victory over the New England Patriots.
