I got to meet gold medalist Jamie Anderson, the first woman to win in the new event of slopestyle snowboarding.
She and Sage Kotsenburg, who won in the men's portion of the same event, are on top of the world. They will always have the distinction of being the first ones to win gold in this new Olympic sport.
They put it on the map this weekend here in Sochi. They both let me hold the gold, which is heavier than I thought it would be. It's said to have meteor rock inside it.
Anderson is so easygoing and down-to-earth even when she's coming down off her Winter Olympic high.
