Brad Marchand on Capitals Fans: “They Mean Nothing”

Washington Capitals fans do not like Boston Bruins forward Brad Marchand.

The pesky forward has a reputation for embellishing, which has not endeared him to other teams and their fans leaguewide.

Perhaps it was this incident in Game 6 Sunday that did not help Marchand's case:

But it was not just Caps fans getting on Marchand's case. The team's game entertainment crew had some fun with it as well, playing Dio's "Holy Diver" during the introduction of the Bruins' starting lineup while also showing a clip of a swimmer diving into a pool later on in the game.

Apparently, Marchand has had enough and made that clear when speaking to reporters in Boston Tuesday:

“For them to judge what knocks you down, they don't know your balance or whatnot on the play,” Marchand told reporters in Boston Tuesday. “They're sitting at home watching on TV. I don't really care what they say. They have no impact on my game, my life. They mean nothing."

I don't know about you, but I think Marchand's relationship with Caps fans just took a nosedive.
