Cooley Not Smitten With Witten

Let the trash talking begin

Speaking at Blair High in Silver Spring, Md., Chris Cooley responded to a question about if he was better than Cowboy TE Jason Witten with slight hesitation and then a resounding, "Hell yea! I'll school that chump!"

Ok, Cooley didn't really say that, but he did say that he thinks he's better than Witten and that the Cowboy, "doesn't run after the catch very well."

Captain Chaos has a point. Last season, he was 8th in the NFL in YACs (yards after catch) with 475 yards while Witten was tied for 33rd with Randy Moss with 358 yards, which actually isn't too shabby.

If you compare the numbers of the two, Witten has been better than Cooley, at least in terms of his 2,097 receiving yards over the last two seasons compared to Cooley's 1,635.

But does Cooley blame the unsteady play of his quarterback? Not at all. In fact, in response to another question, he endorses Jason Campbell, stating that the Skins should not trade him.

It remains to be seen if Campbell and Cooley can get on the same page to put Witten in their dust, and better yet, wins in the book.

Cooley can rest assured that he's gotten Witten beat in one category: Internet genitalia exposure. Not exactly something you want in the record books, though...
