Special Election in Virginia Tuesday

House seat in 45th District up for grabs

Polls opened to thousands of northern Virginia voters this morning for a special election.

Residents of the 45th District, which includes parts of Fairfax and Arlington counties along with Alexandria, will chose a replacement for former Delegate David Englin (D). Englin stepped down from his House seat to spend more time with his family after disclosing and extramarital affair.

Current Alexandria Council member Rob Krupicka (D) is on the ballot along with Republican Timothy McGhee and Libertarian Justin Malkin. Both McGhee and Krupicka lost state Senate races last year.
