FDA Approves Bionic Suit That Helps Paralyzed Walk

The Food and Drug Administration has approved a bionic suit that helps people with spinal cord paralysis walk again, NBC News reported. The ReWalk, a battery-powered robotic exoskeleton at the University of Maryland Rehabilitation Institute, helps patients walk on their own and even regain muscle strength, stamina, and other benefits, studies show. “It will be incredible for me to regain independence, to use the system to walk and stand on my own,” said Derek Herrera, a Marine captain who’s getting one.
