Severe thunderstorm watches are in effect for parts of the D.C. area Tuesday evening.
The following locations are under a severe thunderstorm watch until 10 p.m.
- DC
- Anne Arundel County
- Howard County
- Montgomery County
- Prince George's County
- Arlington
- Fairfax
- Alexandria
The National Weather Service says the storm is capable of producing hail up to the size of quarters and damaging winds greater than 60 mph.
