School Bus Gets Stuck in Sinkhole in Baltimore County; Students OK

A school bus carrying high school students got stuck in a sinkhole that opened up after a water main break Wednesday, said Baltimore County officials. The students got off safely.

The bus, carrying students from Dulaney High School, got stuck Wednesday morning in Cockeysville. Police posted a photo on Twitter showing the rear of the bus sunken into water on the submerged section of road.

The bus was driving slowly toward a stop, then suddenly couldn't move, said Baltimore County schools spokesman Mychael Dickerson. Dickerson didn't know how many students were aboard, but said they exited safely and went to school on another bus.

Police said a water main break caused the road collapse, and drivers were asked to avoid the area.
