Potomac Nationals Announce New Stadium Details

The Potomac Nationals announced Tuesday that they will build a new baseball stadium at the Stonebridge Potomac Town Center right off I-95 in Woodbridge in Prince William County.

County and VDOT leaders joined the Potomac Nationals announcing the new public-private partnership development that would include a new 6,000 to 7,000-seat stadium to the county.

"Not only will this be one of the nicest stadiums in the country,” P-Nats VP/General Manager Josh Olerud said. β€œThis is a community facility that will increase the lifestyle of all residents in Prince William County.”

The project includes a 1,500-space parking garage that commuters can use during the day.

Drivers will have access to the HOV lanes from the garage.

The project still needs environmental approval and the public will get a chance to weigh in too.

The new stadium is expected to be completed in 2014.

Team owner Art Silber will fund construction of the new stadium with an investment of more than $25 million.

β€œWe couldn’t be happier about this partnership and that Prince William will continue to be the home for the Potomac Nationals,” Silber said. β€œThis new, state-of-the art stadium on the I-95 corridor will offer our players and fans a great venue for professional baseball.”
