Police are searching for a man who they say sexually assaulted a woman inside a business near the New Carrollton Metro station early Thursday morning.
The suspect attacked the woman shortly before 6:45 a.m. in the 4000 block of Garden City Drive in Landover, Maryland, Prince George's County police said.
Investigators believe the man followed the woman from the New Carrollton station. Metro Transit Police are assisting in the investigation.
On Friday, some Metro riders said they are now taking precautions since learning about the assault.
"I'm really more vigilant right now," one woman said.
Police described the suspect as a black male, about 20 years old, who is about 5 feet 11 inches and has a thin build. The suspect walks with a limp, police said.
He was wearing a red jacket with a plus sign or cross symbol on the back and on the sleeves.
