A Loudoun County police dog was found Sunday after escaping from a groomer Friday afternoon.
The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office announced Sunday afternoon that the agency canine, known as Bronco, was found on Ivandale Road in Hamilton. An earlier sighting had been reported by several local residents near Foundry Road in Purcellville.
“We appreciate the outpouring of support in bringing Bronco back to his handler,” Loudoun Sheriff Mike Chapman said in a statement. “The efforts of residents spreading the word through social media and offering to help in the search was overwhelming and we are grateful for those residents who kept an eye out for Bronco and helped bring him home.”
Bronco, a German shepherd weighing between 80 and 85 pounds, escaped from the groomer in Leesburg sometime Friday afternoon. It did not appear to be harmed and was taken to a local veterinarian as a precaution.
