Request a car decked out with Christmas decorations, and Lyft will donate its proceeds from your ride to a local charity.
Lyft’s Merry Mode gives customers the opportunity to ride and arrive in holiday spirit.
Lyft will donate fares from Merry Mode rides taken between Dec. 14 to Dec. 17 to Martha’s Table, a non-profit organization geared toward helping families in need access quality education programs, healthy food and affordable clothing.
Kara Richie, a Martha's Table spokesperson, said the nonprofit and Lyft have been in touch for months.
"After a group of their staff came to volunteer at a joyful food market at Randle Highlands Elementary School this fall, they approached us to be a beneficiary for the holiday campaign," she said. "We try to infuse joy in everything we do across our program and they are supporting us in a similar fun and upbeat way."
Merry Mode is available in D.C. Thursday through Sunday, Dec. 17 at these times:
- 3 p.m. to midnight on Thursday, Dec. 14
