SPEED CUP STACKING
Springfield Connection: " Forget speed racing. One of the hottest competitive sports for local elementary students is speed cup stacking. Just ask the 300-plus students who raced the clock Saturday, April 2, at North Springfield Elementary School, stacking and unstacking plastic cups at lightening speeds in various pyramid configurations.  From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., participants practiced their stacking skills in the schoolโ€™s cafeteria, and then competed solo, or in head-to-head relays, in the schoolโ€™s gym. Sequences are usually pyramids of three, six or 10 cups, and range from simple stacks to more intense patterns and sequences like "the cycle."

COKE ON THE PLANE
Loudoun Times: " Dog may be manโ€™s best friend, but drug smugglers could think otherwise. A Customers and Border Protection, or CBP, canine unit sniffed out 21 ounces of cocaine hidden in an airplane at Dulles Airport on April 14. The illegal drugs were concealed behind a cabin panel. The 607.7 grams of cocaine boast a $40,000 estimated street value. CBP officials were unable to link the narcotics from the plane, which arrived from Bogota, Colombia, to anyone, so no arrests have been made."
